LOOK FOR : Gugu Mbatha-Raw


NEW ACTRESS Gugu Mbatha-Raw (born 1983) is an English actress.

Mbatha-Raw studied acting at the world renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. (RADA accepts only 28 students per years in a rigorous acting curriculum)

She has appeared in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, as well as playing Juliet in Romeo And Juliet, both in 2005 at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

In November 2008 Mbatha-Raw played Monique at the National Theatre, as well as in the tour.

Prior to appearing in HAMLET on Broadway, Mbatha-Raw played alongside Jude Law in HAMLET in the Donmar’s West End production of HAMLET.

If you were wondering about Mbatha-Raw’s unique name, her father is a doctor from South Africa and her mom an english nurse, Gugu come’s from Gugulethu, which means “our pride” in Zulu.


She is set to play in a new CBS show starring with Boris Kodjoe as her husband. They are a AFRICAN american version of "Mr. and Mrs Smith"
